It is the third part of the filmmaker's video diary which started in 1992 with The Shattered Mirror. The film is a personal journey that began in the Shaking world of Moscow during the uprising against Yeltsin and continued in Los Angeles during and after the devastating earthquake of 1994. It takes us deep into the lives of citizens who represent a cross section of Southern California's melting pot. How people coped with the new realities which at the same time took on new dimensions by the O.J. Simpson case - starting with the gripping police chase of the white Bronco, and leading into a mass media circus which followed the trial's every detail. In the end, it is a young mother of three who with her newborn cradled on her shoulder, gives us the essence of Marina's story: that to survive the wild and troubling realities of our live - in Los Angeles, in Moscow, anywhere - we are all guided by the same common truth based on love, hope and humanity. English. 58 minutes, 1995
